Befuddled
Befuddled I am and may remain
While life sinks down its lifelong drain.
Befuddled by politicians’ deals
Contrived by hypocritical heels.
Befuddled by wealth that’s never sated
While poverty goes unabated.
Befuddled why we keep tanks rumbling
But leave our infrastructure crumbling.
Befuddled that while we say we’re free
There’s so much inequality.
As long as life is mad and muddled
I’m destined to remain befuddled.
